Lore of the Tongue Day

An annual celebration of smoke, salt, oysters, fire and excess.

Lore of the Tongue Day is our celebration of everything that has shaped Sailors Grave over the past ten years: beer, oysters, smoke, fire, music, art and the incredible community of people we've been lucky enough to collaborate with.

Spend the afternoon and evening around the fire with friends old and new. More than a beer festival, Lore of the Tongue Day is an immersive winter gathering where we celebrate people and place. Watch a new mural come to life, enjoy incredible food from some of our favourite collaborators, and raise a mug to another year of stories worth sharing.

Throughout the afternoon we'll gather for a series of ceremonial keg tappings and oyster pairings.*

Each hour, the bell rings.

A new "Law" is announced.

A new keg is tapped.

A new oyster preparation is served.

First Law

Blue Kelp

Blue Kelp is launching their range of tinned products, serving them as snacks on the day, celebrating a new chapter of collaboration at Dunetown.

Stay the Night! Add-ons

Camping is available so you can enjoy the evening without rushing home. Just bring your tent, you don't need to be self-contained campers this weekend.

Sunday Breakfast

On Sunday morning, join us for breakfast by Max Lutze (The Local).

Breakfast includes:

  • Breakfast burritos
  • Sailors Grave Wagyu sausage & egg English muffins
  • Bloody Mary bar
  • Filter coffee

Sunday breakfast is available only to guests attending Lore of the Tongue Day.
